Easton Turns 2!

Well we have been pretty busy so I'm just going to post a few new pictures of Easton. We celebrated his 2 year birthday in Ruidoso with the Rehwalds and the deer. It was a nice escape from the heat!

Picturs from Travels

It feels like we have been out of town since June! This is the first week back in "real life", and Easton has had a temperature of 103, so I'm glad it's at home and not on the road.

The 29th of June was my last day of work! I am now officially owner/operator of Bahama Buck's! Change is not my style so I'm just trying to go with it and know it will be fun once we get up and running. You can check out pictures of our building progress on Facebook (search Bahama Bucks Frisco).

Anyway, back to June 29th . . . we left that day for Ruidoso, NM, with our friends the Waldens, to spend some quiet time in the Mountains for the 4th. It was very relaxing and nice to get out of the HEAT of Texas! The kids loved the statue of Curtis on the front porch. And we also had fun at the races. On the 5th of July, Jeremy was back in Dallas working, but Easton and I stayed in Lubbock so Megan and I could train at the BBuck's headquarters. Although we were overloaded with information, we had a blast! And we had our fill of snow! Eastie and I drove home Saturday, did some laundry, an on July 12th we flew to Des Moines to visit JuJu and Popa. All the girls got together to catch up, and E-man had some great one-on-one time with Popa at the Science Center, and more importantly, the DSM Zoo! He loved it! He also loved playing in the yard and helping Popa garden. We headed back home on the 12th, and both promptly caught a cold :) We were wiped out after all that! Here are some photos . . .

PS, I'm sure you all are excited as I am that we finally moved the box of Ruger's ashes from our study and while in Ruidoso we gave him a proper burial with his cousins Abbie and Halley. RIP.

Easton & Mila

Easton love to point out the features on faces . . . here he is showing me Mila's eyes, which I'm sure she loves. He tries to pat her gently, but he just can resist giving her a big HUG! This is when she cuts out and runs under our bed to hide for a while.

Swimming Lessons!

Easton started swimming lessons last week, and does not LOVE them. Instead of blowing bubbles, he would prefer to cling to me like velcro. I can't pry his little hands off my neck long enough to attempt to float him on his back. BUT, I did dunk him under the water during our sing-along to "Ring around the rosey". He didn't seem to mind it because everyone was clapping when he came up for air. However, he still won't blow bubbles so we've got a ways to go! Here he is with his teacher, Ms. Kaitlyn. He is on the verge of a breakdown.

Sam's Graduation!

Last week we spent in Annapolis, MD, for Sam's graduation from the Naval Academy. It was a great time with the whole family and quite an experience to attend the formal graduation. Defence Secretary Rober Gates spoke, and he did a wonderful job. Here are some photos throughout the week. . .

Dinner Club

Well we had beautiful weather last weekend; perfect for dinner on the patio with the Baades, Halls, and Pittmans.

Really, really difficult to get four kids looking at the camera at once!

In the second photo it looks like Eloise is pointing, saying, "he did it!" And Easton looks really guilty for some reason!

Driving

Easton has really been into cars lately. He refuses to get out of the car. He climbs right over into the drivers seat and when I open that door to pull him out, he climbs to the passenger seat. And back and forth we go until one of us tires out. Dad is helping feed the hobby, with his new toy. Oh, and I just like this one shoe running photo. Cute!

Coloring

What started as a calm afternoon activity ended in a chaos of half eaten crayons (by Easton AND Mila).

TCU Easter Egg Hunt

Last Sunday we journeyed out to the TCU campus to partake in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Easton had a grand time going after the eggs. He tried to cross the roped off area of eggs several times before the official start began. We had to hold him back. What a competitor! ha ha. He also posed with the Easter Bunny, whom he didn't like at first, but warmed up to. Super Frog was not a favorite. We'll keep working on him! Note, forgot basket, used hat, good solution dad!

Mexico

Haven't updated in a while and while these are not of Easton, they on our beautiful tropical vacation in Puerta Vallarta. We just got back last week, and it was a nice get-away for the parents :) You can also see our new yacht we purchased while down there . . . j/k!

Oh, and Jeremy caught a 50 lbs Roosterfish, which will be prominently displayed somewhere in our house (or garage) once we get it back from the taxidermist. Lovely!!

Smiling

Just a cute picture of the big boy! He will be 19 months on the 21st . . . time files! We had fun in the backyard this weekend with friends, bounce houses (thanks dad), bikes and bubbles!

Visit to Seattle

Easton and I just got back from a trip to Seattle to visit Lu, Brett, and Aiden, along with Grandma JuJu and Popa Chompers. We had a great time even though the weather was cold and snowy. But that made for a GREAT day of skiing. A shout out to Brett for taking me to Crystal Mountain for some awesome skiing. Other than that adventure, we went to the Aquarium, which the boys loved. Easton and Aiden had fun together (or, rather, next to each other). They didn't interact too much except when fighting for the iphone. It was a hit. They also loved riding in the wagon together, pulled by Popa and JuJu to Cafe Vitta for some coffee and carrot muffin. Yum! Here are some photos. . . .
